Sgt. Bean joined the Department as a Reserve Officer In August of '83.
In November of '85, he was hired full time and graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in the Fall of '86.
During his 25 year career as a Rumford Police Officer, he had the opportunity to work in all areas of Law Enforcement.
In March of 2006, he was promoted to the Rank of Sergeant.

In November of 2010, he retired after serving the Town of Rumford for 25 years.

Officer Bean's Safety Tip

1) One point I'd like you to remember is that when you are approaching an intersection where you have the right of way, make eye contact with the driver about to enter the intersection. He may not see you.
2) Always practice defensive driving. Keeping in mind that all drivers make mistakes. There is no such thing as a perfect driver.
