The Town of Rumford and its approximate 7,000 residents is located in the western foothills of Maine in Northern Oxford County along the Androscoggin River. The town was incorporated in 1800 and will be celebrating its bicentennial birthday in the year 2000. Rumford is home to a paper mill owned by Mead. The Rumford Mill was formerly known as Oxford Paper and Boise Cascade. The Rumford Mill donated and paid for the refurbishing of the beautiful D.A.R.E. vehicle located on the above cards. The Falls located in the background of one of the cards is one of Rumford's beautiful features and is the location for a spectacular fireworks display every 4th of July.
