On December 15th, 2006 Rumford Patrolman Lawrence Winson
graduated from the 11th Basic Law Enforcment Training Program
at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro.
Congratulations "Lawrence" from all your fellow officers.

On December 11th, 2006, Chief Stacy Carter appointed Ptl. Paul Casey as
the Domestic Violence Investigator in charge of Domestic Violence Cases in the
Towns of Rumford, Mexico and Dixfield.

On August 17th, 2006, Mark Cayer was promoted from Patrol Officer to the
rank of Lieutenant. Congratulations to Mark.

On August 14th, 2006, Lawrence Winson left to attend the 18 week 11th Basic
Law Enforcement Training Program at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy
in Vassalboro.

June 2006

June 2006 - Special Olympics Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run (Rumford-Waterville-Orono)
On June 8th, 2006, Officers from the Rumford Police Department participated
in the 2006 Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
Ptl. Douglas Maifeld (19th year), Ptl. Matthew Noyes (2nd year) and Ptl. Kim Scott Mills (1st year).
In the photo above several Special Olympians helped start the run from Rumford to Orono.

May 2006
On May 22nd, 2006, (5)-Five new "Cop Cards" hit the streets.
The new cards are for officers who didn't have cards.
Those officers are Ptl. Cayer, Ptl. Mills, Ptl. Noyes, Ptl.
Winson and a card for Reserve Officers Beale and Clukey.

March 2006
On March 31st, 2006, Chief Stacy Carter announced that
Lawrence Winson had been hired as a full-time officer.
He is scheduled to attend the Maine Criminal Justice Academy
in the fall.

On March 12th, 2006, F. David Bean and James Bernard
were both promoted from Patrol Officers to the rank of Sergeant.
Congratulations to both.
