On March 29th, Sgt. Douglas Maifeld was presented with
the highest award given a Law Enforcement Officer by Special
Olympics Maine. He was presented with the Bob Bell Award
at the State Conference held in South Portland. He was considered for
his 25 years of volunteering and raising money for special olympians
throughout Maine. Congratulations Sgt. Maifeld on a well
deserving award. If you would like to donate to Special Olympics

On April 8th, 2005 at the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special
Olympics Conference in Wells, Maine, Ptl. Douglas Maifeld was chosen
to carry the torch for the Opening Ceremonies with a Special Olympics
athelete at the Maine Summer Olympic Games in Orono on June 10th, 2005.
